TravelSIM - The Mobile Phone Service For International Travelers

by Sue Kuti

Cuba did not disappoint us!

We loved its vibrancy! Everywhere was full of life - every corner presented music and dance. Salsa was everywhere.

Old Havana is a fascinating city with amazing architecture just waiting to be restored. There was evidence that this was on its way but the lack of finances and materials hinder the progress. The people speak openly of their hope for the future when the USA will lift the embargo.

The Cuban people are friendly and welcoming. Although poor, they seem happy. The harbour presents a wonderful backdrop for the city and many people can be seen walking the Malecon.

We spent four wonderful nights in Havana. We walked Old Havana absorbing its vibe. At night we found lots of bars and music.

TravelSIM - The Mobile Phone Service For International Travelers

We were treated to a tour of Modern Havana in vintage American cars. These cars are everywhere but although our were in pristine condition, it is not unusual to see a group of Cubans under a bonnet devising a way of repairing the car till the next breakdown. Cubans are ingenious at making do with what they have. Buses were made up of old and new - all put together and as long as it works that is fine!

30 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started on Twitter PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 01 July 2009 13:35

Since 2006, hundreds of thousands of people have gotten on the Twitter bandwagon. Users of the social media micro-blogging platform have grown recently at a rate of 1382% per month!

While I have a following of more than 1,300 people now, when I started on Twitter a few months ago, I had no idea what I was doing with it. Like a lot of new Twitterers, after a few days of tweeting to nobody and getting nothing in return (obviously), I thought the same thing I have heard a million times from people, "what a waste of time".

So if you are new to Twitter and having the same doubts, don't despair.

I am going to share with you the 30 things I wish i knew when i started on Twitter

I am by no means an expert on Twitter - these are just a few things which helped me not only understand the platform more but also get the most out of it while still being a good Twitter 'citizen'.

Please feel free to contribute in the comments below if you can add to the 30 things from your own experience starting out on Twitter!
